Founded in 1973, Guantian Iron & Steel initially specialized in the manufacturing and sales of galvanized wire at its Yongkang Plant. These products have been widely adopted in the construction, agriculture, processing, and netting industries. In 1989, the Madou Plant was established to produce spheroidized annealed wire rods, catering to the needs of the high-end screw industry.

In 1992, the company was publicly listed on the stock exchange. To integrate upstream and downstream operations and secure a stable supply of raw materials, the company built a hot rolling steel plant in 1996 (now the Guantian Plant) with an annual capacity of 400,000 tons. This facility produces a wide range of wire rods to meet internal and market demands.
